Book Review: Rooms

Book Title: Rooms

Book Author:  Lauren Oliver

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️/5

Publication Date: September 23rd 2014

The good thing about an unpopular book, is that you get to make up your own mind about it. No influence whatsoever.

The bad thing about an unpopular book, is that you have no one to chat about it with. I think I only found one person who have read it and actually enjoyed it.

I did not like the book at all! Half the book was spent introducing characters(none of them likable at all!), a plot which I didn’t get at all but found it ultimately boring and the other half wrapping up the stories loose ends.

The only good thing about the book is that it was an easy read and can be finished in one sitting.

I was so in the mood for a good mystery but this one was completely lacking. There was no mystery of any kind or maybe there was but because I found my way to snoozville once in a while that I might have missed it.

Would I recommend anyone picking it up? Only if you have trouble sleeping at night.

ARC Review : Jenny Sparrow Knows the Future

Book Title: Jenny Sparrow Knows the Future
Book Author: Melissa Pimentel
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Expected Publication Date: July 27th 2017

It’s been a really long time since I have read any chick-lit, so when I was offered this book, I was like, why not?

And why not indeed!

This was a good read. Light, fluffy just like your Saturday morning pancakes. I loved how it touched base in a comical way an important subject that we all (maybe not all?) went through at some stage in our lives.

Jenny Sparrow was all about planning. According to the calculated list she created when she was thirteen (laminated, mind you!), it’s time for her to get married. When her boyfriend proposes a break instead of a wedding, she goes off to join her best friend for a girl’s time out in Las Vegas. This seemed to be the perfect gateway till she wakes up the next morning, married and to a stranger!

It was really hilarious to embark on this self-discovery mission with Jenny, to realize that sometimes, things do no work out the way we want it to be and that it’s ok for them not to. It was quite amusing as well to read how Jenny dealt with all those sudden changes that happened after one irresponsible drunken night and to realize that you cannot force love/marriage but rather they would somehow find you.

This is a perfect read to de-stress with, have fun and enjoy at the moment. I would not consider this one as one of my favorite books or one what I would remember in the long run. But hey! That’s just me as I’m not really into chick-lit or rom-com anymore.

Thanks to @penguinUkbooks for the ARC, which was given in an exchange for an honest review.

First Post, Welcome

Let’s get Serious!

I can FINALLY cross off “start a blog” of my list-of-things-to-do now. *phew

Now that I have gotten this out of the way, let me check what else I’ve got on my list.. and move on. *looks down the list.

Ok, scratch that!

Just grab a chair, have a cup of coffee or two! – this might take a while – and let’s get on with it. I don’t know how you’ve stumbled upon my blog or who invited you, but you’re welcome nevertheless. <insert awkward pause here>

So, ahem, I’m Nada! I give the worst first impressions and its seems that writing my first blog post is going to have the same effect.

I prefer spending my times talking books with a fellow bookworm, rather than the normal chit chat with all those uncomfortable silent moments.

I’ve been Insta-blogging about books for a while now, reviewing and recommending them. I find that I totally love it so I decided to up my game and create a blog/site to share what I do. I’m also looking to give so much more than just that so stick with me and LET THE GAMES BEGIN…err, I mean the reading. *sheepish smile

Let’s read, discuss, review and recommend books.

Now that you have gone through my lines of gibberish.. I, officially, welcome you to my new blog!
