Book Title : The Sun is also a Star
Book Author : Nicola yoon
My Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Publication Date : November 1st 2016
After reading and loving Everything Everything, I didn’t hesitate to pick up the second book by the same author.
I can’t say that I regret this choice but I won’t say I’m happy about it either.
The Sun is also a Star talks about serious practical, Natasha, who does not believe in dreams and fate. A single mistake from her father’s side got them threatened with deportation and have to leave to Jamaica in twelve hours.
During those twelve hours and walking round the streets of New York –where she calls home, she meets and falls in love with Daniel, the perfect son and student, who is an absolute dreamer and very much believes in fate.
Though I might find someone who would love this book, it just wasn’t for me. It was such an easy read but still, I struggled to finish it as fast as I normally do with such books.
It did have a good story, cute characters, talks a lot about fate and hope. Of course, I love Nicola’s style of writing. I would definitely read more of her books but this one didn’t get me all hyped up about it.
I’d still recommend it thought. Especially to a younger audience or someone who’s just looking for a quick read.
